The ACO Behind the Music Series opens this season with a collection of three unique performances, curated to provide a deeper connection with classical music for new listeners and lifelong enthusiasts alike. These enchanting events allow for an enjoyable afternoon of music and personal interaction with the artists.
Flute and Piano
Enjoy an afternoon filled with romantic classic such as “Meditation from Thais” and Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise”, along with romantic opera melodies such as “O mio babbino Caro” and “Che gelda manina” highlighted by standards from the Great American Songbook such as “My Funny Valentine” and “Embraceable You.”
Horn and Piano
This program provides a musical exploration of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary periods through the the wide range of the French horn and piano accompaniment. Music of Bach, Beethoven and Strauss provide the perfect pieces to demonstrate various technique, lyricism and flexibility of the horn along with piano pyrotechnics of Danzas Argentinas.
