The Stuart Friends of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra invite you to their Annual Benefit Concert!
As we now have the popular singer/songwriter format, classical music pioneered a similar concept: the composer/performer. A small, elite handful of musicians who wrote and played their own works achieved a kind of fame that would make the Beatles blush. Join ACO Pianist Tao Lin for an evening/afternoon of music celebrating that tradition of the 19th Century pianist/composer with music by some of the greatest musicians to walk the stage and wield a pen. Chopin and Debussy, both of whose works were grounded in, and inspired by Paris, frame the program. In between, music of Beethoven and Liszt—both of whom enjoyed genuine rockstar status during their life—complete with fainting groupies.
