BIOGRAPHY

Violinist Sha Zhang joined the Atlantic Classical Orchestra in 2001. As a classically-trained violinist who also performs many other music genres, Ms. Zhang has performed and on tour with major artists in the Classical, Rock, Pop, Country, Jazz and World music (Celtic/Irish) and musical world. She currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she performs with various professional orchestras and groups in the area. In addition to performing, recording and teaching, Ms. Zhang embarked in an international musical journey, founding the JINSHA SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL in 2009, which brings American high school musicians to China for 24 days in the summer and creating cultural and musical experiences for all participants. Born in Chengdu, China, Ms. Zhang began studying violin at age five with Weimin Hu and later graduated from the prestigious Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Ms. Zhang has studied in England in master classes with world-famous violin virtuosos Ruggiero Ricci, Kun Hu and Madeleine Mitchell under full scholarship.
