Reger Serenade, Op. 141a (1915)
Beethoven Serenade for String Trio in D Major, Op.25
We feature two wonderful Serenades by Beethoven and Reger. Though most serenades were written as concert works, they pay allegiance to their heritage as entertainment music played for the amusement and enjoyment of a party-going audience. These works are no exception. Though written more than a century apart, they share a buoyancy, lightness of spirit, and an appealing intimacy.
