Siwoo Kim, a distinguished violinist praised for his “incisive” and “compelling” performances, serves as both a soloist and chamber musician. Originating from Columbus, Ohio, he co-founded the VIVO Music Festival and gave the world premiere of Samuel Adler’s violin concerto, earning acclaim for his impassioned playing. Siwoo made his Carnegie Hall concerto debut with the Juilliard Orchestra and has since collaborated with orchestras worldwide, including the Houston Symphony and Johannesburg Philharmonic.

As the co-founder of Quartet Senza Misura, Siwoo showcased his chamber music prowess, earning accolades for their performances at renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center and Seoul Arts Center. He has collaborated with esteemed artists like Itzhak Perlman and Mitsuko Uchida, and his festival appearances include Marlboro Music Festival and the Tivoli Festival in Denmark. Siwoo’s accolades include the 2012 King Award for Young Artists and top prizes in competitions such as Corpus Christi International Competition and Ima Hogg Competition. A Juilliard School graduate under Robert Mann and Donald Weilerstein, Siwoo performs on a 1753 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin generously loaned through Rare Violins In Consortium.
